A little more about me…

Heather has a background in Theatre Set Design + Production and as a Professional Interior Designer. Highlights include Set Decorator for TV Movie, Haunted Wedding, Assistant Set Decorator for Tales from the Loop, and set design for feature film, A Dog’s Journey.

With a lifelong passion for art and design, Heather has spent the last 16 years working professionally and building a multi-faceted skill set. She began studying art history and theatre by hand drafting, scenic painting and building maquettes in the theatre, later progressing to various CAD and 3D modelling programs. After completing a Master’s Thesis in Interior Design in 2013, she worked on both residential and commercial projects, achieving the National Council for Interior Design Qualification in 2017. As an Interior Designer, she practiced with a strong focus on green building and universally accessible design, becoming a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction, and was an active member of the sustainable design community. Having always been captivated by the magic of theatre and film, she transitioned back to set design and set decoration, becoming an IATSE union member in 2017. The imaginative and collaborative world has been the perfect avenue for her to hone creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on design skills.

When she’s not on set, Heather can be found walking her dog, watching absurdist British comedy shows, or spending time at the lake with her friends and family. Her life’s other passions are obsessively listening to music and traveling as much as possible. Highlights thus far include the East Coast of Canada, Scotland and New Zealand. Growing up, she learned Ukrainian, French and German, attempted Japanese, and that love of learning about language and culture has never left her heart.
